Update: September 15

After 5 weeks, Jayci had her first venture outside. It was such a nice day and it felt soooo good for her (and us). She is wearing the speaking valve more and is getting used to how it feels. It is such a beautiful sound to hear her voice. Everyone is asking us if that is her normal voice and we say, "yep, that is our Jayci". Since her swallow tests went so good yesterday, she has the go ahead to eat anything she wants. We are going to order spaghetti for supper, yum yum. Her left arm is almost bionic now. Ha ha. She just keeps improving daily. Her spirits are good. She keeps us laughing. Can't wait to see what she will do tomorrow!! Take care and continue to pray and we love and miss you all.

  4. Well J-Bird I'm not surprised in the least at the progress you are making. From the get go you were always strong and determined and you always seemed able to do things way before Hayley - drove me nuts! It's that unique inner spirit and your determination to succeed that I love. It's you that I have faith and belief in, you will never give up. Keep that beautiful smile on your face and that sparkle in your eyes! I love Jayci!

  9. Hi Jayci,
been thinking about you lots. talked with your grandma the other day. I hear lots of positive stuff every day and I am very happy for you. I find it ironic that your nick name is J-bird! another person who broke the chains and I would really like you to search is the Miracle Man. search www.themiracleman.org. He too had a fractured neck and through his persistence and determination has become a miracle that everyone can admire. I personally saw and heard his story a few years ago at a seminar in Las Vegas. Incredible.

I will follow your progress eagerly, and will pray for the strength you have and will continue to have.
