Hello again from not so sunny California. Every morning when we get up it is overcast and every morning Shawn says "Looks like it could rain". We have only had 1 day, I think, that it rained a little. The sun has been showing up a little later in the morning tho. Today, however, it is still overcast. Good thing we hadn't planned on heading to the beach today!
We picked up Brad, Andrea, Eden and Jael at the airport on Wednesday night. So good to see them all. Thursday afternoon we headed to Sea World. Still love it there! It was quite a bit more busy than the last time we went tho. Summer, I guess. The lines for the shows were crazy but we did see the dolphin show and of course, Shamu. We went later in the afternoon as we wanted to stay for the night show and the fireworks. Shamu Rocks was pretty awesome and the fireworks, well, just some fireworks, but still nice. It was after 10 before that was finished and we still hadn't made it to the roller coaster, the one Eden had been talking about ALL DAY. So we headed over there and Andrea and Eden went on the ride. Got a little wet too! Haha! Needless to say, it was a late night and we had training the next morning, but still worth it!
Jayci has been working hard at training, as usual. She has worked with the floor manager a couple days this week and yesterday, he said he noticed an improvement just since Monday. He is really good to work with, as he explains a lot to us. That is especially good for Jayci, as what makes things so hard for her, is that the connection from brain to body is injured, and she really has to concentrate on everything, and find what works for her. It helps us too so that when we go home, we will know what is best for us to help Jayci. He also showed us what to do with her left hand in order to stretch the tendons that were so damaged. We had planned to see a orthopedic surgeon when we got home about her hand, but doesn't look like we will need to do that, at this point. So that is great news! Jayci is doing really good leg pushes and can unlock her knees. We have video that I will post so you all can see how hard Amazing Jace continues to work!!! Jayci has one more week left at training, which is kind of bittersweet. It means we will be on our way home(woo hoo) but it also means that Jayci will once again have to leave Project Walk. The place that makes her so happy! The place that is helping to make her healthy! The place that is helping to get her back on her feet again! The place, where one day, she will be running out the doors!!!! BELIEVE!!!
Don't think I shared this story with you yet, so I will throw it in. One day before our trip down here, Jayci and Shawn were out in our front yard, when our neighbor, Ed Slusar, walked up the street. He was carrying a bag of gold fish. He had just bought them and wanted to show them to Jayci before he put them in his pond. He asked Jayci if she would name one. She liked this one that was white with an orange head but didn't really know what to name it. Ed suggested 'Hope'. He said "You always have hope". Jayci agreed!!!
So today I think we are going to hit the Farmer's Market in the Village, and wander around there for a bit. I wonder if Jayci will have to show Uncle Brad the Pizza Port???!!! The 4 girls want to hit the beach one of these days too. And on Tuesday, we are going to watch the Padres play Pittsburgh. Busy, busy, busy!!!
Well, I better start getting lunch ready. When they are hungry, THEY ARE HUNGRY! Hope you all have a great weekend and do something fun!!! God Bless!!
Love Shawn, Star, Cassi, Jayci, Brad, Andrea, Eden and Jael.
PS Miss you Tye! Miss you Gizzy!
