Happy Birthday(yesterday) to Hayley Marie and GREAT Auntie Brenda Lynn!!! Hope you both had a splendid day!!

Also having a birthday yesterday was Jayci's dear friend, Jordan. Happy Birthday to you too!!!

Funny story about that. It's December, 1992 and I had just found out I was pregnant, again. I skipped the home test this time, and went straight to the doctor, who confirmed that yes I was pregnant. I didn't cry this time. I was quite enjoying my role as mama and by the time this baby was born(due date August 16), little Cassi Lynn would be 2 so I figured it was perfect timing(although, once again, not planned). Anywho, I was on the phone with my friend Dana, and I don't remember who said it first, but get this. We were both pregnant, expecting around the same time. Then I said "My sister is pregnant too", and Dana says, "OMG, so is my sister, Lisa". What????

Dana and I became friends way back when in high school(my kids call it the olden days) and our super hot boyfriends were friends as well. Who, by the way, we eventually married(lucky, lucky girls!!??). Our sisters, Sherry and Lisa, are the same age as well, and attended high school together. So it was quite the qwinkydink to find out we were all expecting.

Fast forward to July 30th, 1993. Two beautiful little girls were born at the Swift Current hospital, one named Hayley, and born to my sister Sherry, the other named Jordan and born to Dana's sister, Lisa(oh, they both have husbands too, Dallas & Rob). August 10th was Shawn and my turn when sweet little Jayci was born and the very next day on August 11th, Dana and Sterling welcomed their handsome son, Kyle.

I love that story!

Who knew that summer of 1993, that exactly 16 years later, a cruel car accident would bond our families like it has? Certainly not in a way you would ever ever wish for but we are glad to have them in our lives. All of them!!!!

Jayci had to say good bye to Tyler, one of her trainers, yesterday. He is going back to school and it's too bad. Jayci quite liked him. Well, we all did. He worked her really hard, and didn't let her slack(not that she does that anyways, but...). Anyways, Jayci gave him a bracelet, he gave her a hug, called her 'darlin' and blew her a kiss, so she was feeling real special!!! Think her words were "Yep, he likes me". She's so funny!!! Training is still going well. Jayci trained with Lauren yesterday who was her main trainer last time but has only worked with her a couple times this trip, and Lauren was very impressed with how much stronger Jayci is since starting back in April. She likes to give Jayci a hard time tho about how much training she did(didn't do??) at home. Haha! Once we get our house set up better we will have a home schedule and so things should go much more smoothly. I don't know tho, Jayci is going to have a pretty demanding school schedule as well, but I'm positive she will work it all out.

So, now, what to do today?? Shawn and the girls are still sleeping(imagine that) and it is kind of rainy outside. We went to the village yesterday so I have been checking out some other stuff we could do. There really is a lot around here. I found places that look kind of neat but now to get everyone to agree!??!

Well, hope everyone has a great day and I will post again soon. Take care!!

Love Shawn, Starla, Cass and Jace

PS Miss you Tye Tye!!!

  2. Well - so great to hear from all of you. Glad to hear that things are once again going good with Jayci's therapy. I never once doubted that girl - even before the accident. She just has that special determination that makes her work hard no matter what she sets her mind too.

Sorry to hear the weather isn't a little better for you in California. It has been way too hot here for me - don't like the heat much unless I can be sitting in the shade drinking a cool one!

Jayci - it is hard to say "good bye" to all those people who have touched in your life along the road you are traveling. Please know that everyone has a place and time in your life and that sometimes you just have to let go. Remember them with fond memories and the gratitude that you all deserve. You too have touched so many and we will always look up to you and your happy spirit.

We are very excited to read the posts and to hear about all the progress that you are making Jayci. Moving that left foot is a real accomplishment and I can't wait to see you do that - oh - but then I may see your "chicken legs" that your mom posted about way back. Oh well - it will be worth it to see that foot move!

Taneil talks about you often and when we were in BC last weekend for her cousin's wedding, she was bragging to all the family about what an awesome friend you are and all the progress you've made. She even had to go onto your page and show everyone how good you did your push ups last time you were at project walk. She truely is proud to be a friend of Jayci Wittmier's!!!

Love to all and keep up the great work!

Lloyd, Glenis, Taylor & Taneil - oh and of course Topaz!!
