Ohhh the weather outside is frightful.......
We made it back to Saskatoon in this cold cold weather AND this time, the chair came with us, however.....when we pulled into the parking lot at City Hospital, the chair was too cold and wouldn't run and Shawn couldn't get it out of the truck. So he pulled up to the door, ran in and got a chair from the lobby, put Jace in it, and I wheeled her back up to our room. Shawn did manage to get the chair going this afternoon and got it out of the back of his truck. What a gong show!!!!
The weekend was good. I have officially started my Christmas shopping!!!! WOO HOO! Cass, Jace, Ty, Shawn and I all went to the mall on Saturday and I think everyone accomplished quite a bit. Cass and I outlasted the other three as they went back home and the two of us continued the shopping without them. It was fun and it felt good to be out together as a family.
Sunday night Jayci went and watched the Titans' hockey game. When it was over, the girls had a surprise for Jace but when they all came upstairs to find her, she saw them coming and took off in her chair so they all had to chase after her. She thought that was pretty funny. Anyways, the team all pitched in and got Jayci a Titans team jacket with her name and number. Jayci was tickled orange, to say the least, that they would still include her as part of their team. She also said every single player gave her a hug too. Thanks so much Titans! Sure hope you all know how much that means to Jayci. She was glad she got to watch the girls play and to see all the hockey parents as well. Sorry I missed it but, well, you know....guess Jayci is stronger than her mom (don't tell her I said that).
Jayci was in the pool again today and WOW! She was doing sit ups, and standing (again, with help) and she was swimming on her own. Yep, she was floating on her back(she has a thingy around the back of her neck to hold her head and a pool noodle under her knees) and she used her arms to move and keep her balance. It is so amazing!! Michelle and Karin are great with her in there and they get as excited as Shawn and I. I am taking pictures and hopefully can post one on the blog. Then you all can see the look on her face, one of determination and joy. She is played out when she is finished so you know she is working hard. She goes back in on Thursday and she can't wait. Cassi and Ty really want to see a pool session so hopefully they can come up with us next week and be here for one before we all head home for Christmas.
Well, it is late and morning comes early around here so I better get off to bed. Take care!
Love Shawn, Starla & Jayci

Hi Family........
ReplyDeleteSounds like everyone is adjusting to the travel back and forth.I just hope the weather continues to cooperate for your road conditions to be safe!
Would love to see a picture of Jayci in the pool, she seems to be making amazing progress and I'm sure it's a terrific feeling to feel some freedom with her body.Keep up the great work Honey....you're amazing in ALL aspects!
Shawn and Star you can't give up on the SGI fight...maybe it's time to contact a newspaper in Saskatoon letting them know your plight!I would first off draft the letter and send a copy to SGI to let them read what is being printed and give them the opportunity to act immediately or it goes to print. It's time for them to do what is right for Jayci's safety and comfort and cut the crap!
We look forward to the up-dates on the blog and so appreciate the time you put in to keep everyone aware of the happenings with the family.
We think of you guys daily and love you all.
Keep on keepin on Jayci!
