Update: September 10

Today was a very busy day.  They replaced Jayci's trach with a smaller one and there wasn't a lot of discomfort for her.  Hopefully, this will be better for her.  Today, she was able to sit in a wheelchair for the first time.  The therapists (4 in total), used a lift to get her from the bed to the chair where she sat for about half hour.  When they got Jayci in the chair, the recreation lady who calls herself the "crazy lady" came in playing a drum followed by about four nurses and they sang, "She's the jolly good fellow" to her.  Jayci laughed, but of course, Mom cried...(those darn happy tears).  We didn't leave the room as they needed to monitor her blood pressure and such but it was very good.  She will go back in the chair tomorrow and each time it should feel better and better.  She is still feeling sick to her stomach and is played out from her big day.  But it was great to see her out of that darn bed!
