Exciting news today. The doctor from PICU who is also the respitory doctor was in today regarding Jayci's trach and was impressed with how well she is doing with her breathing so she may not have the trach for that much longer. There are a couple things they will do first. They want to down size her trach again and then plug it for 24 hours to see how she does breathing through her mouth and nose. If all goes well, which we don't know why it shouldn't, they will remove the trach completely. We are not sure exactly when this will take place but this is definately sooner then we expected. The doctor from rehab was in on Friday, and again he was impressed with how far Jace has come since he seen her last. They will check back later this week and as long as her stomach is feeling better, we will be off to rehab at City Hospital here in Saskatoon. As we are learning, things don't happen too quickly here so we are not sure if that will happen this week or next. The splint Jayci has had on her left arm(the bionic one) can now be taken off so that will definately help with physio. We expect she will be able to scratch her own nose anytime now. Haha. Jace had a busy weekend with visitors. It was so good to have Cass and Ty here for a few days, it was always entertaining!!!! It feels so good to be able to laugh. We want to thank everyone for all your love, support and prayers, by posts, cards and visits. It means so much to us all. Take care!

  9. Jayci the Amazing..
I wrote about you in english today, it was a project on inspiration, motivation and dedication. Most students in my class chose to pick famous idols, when really Jayci you are a local idol, your the ultimate definition of those three words. Jaybird, your strength and courage through this journey is highly deserving of an award. Hence the part of the assignment, place interest in giving that of who you choose an award. You win this award because no matter the jump down the hill of life you Jayci keep smiling, and keep gliding no matter how far the jump is down. You are an inspiration because you've inspired those out there who may often loose hope, lost track of strength or even struggling to push by an obstacle to Stand Up, Walk Forward and NEVER give up! The dedication to this journey, setting goals of progress is unbelievably amazing, your motivation and determination along the same high level of amazement. I'm planning on giving you my project and I get to read it at the library too. I've been struggling a bit out here, but with strong clear thoughts of you, I believe in myself and Jayci I've always believed in you.
Keep going beautiful, breathe each new day in and keep going. I lovee youu, Stay strong.
