Well Jayci's first week at Project Walk went really well. It is such a great place for her to be, not only for the benefits we are sure to see, but also because everyone there is trying to overcome the same type of injury Jayci is. She has told us she likes it because she doesn't 'stick out' there. Oh I wish I could take that self consciousness out of her, but hopefully in time she will realize that some people are just curious and that is why they stare. Its funny, because I told the kids I remember when they were 3 little people and I would take them shopping or something. While I was picking out cereal in the grocery store, I would turn around and see all 3 of them standing there staring at someone. Not sure what exactly intrigued them, but there they would be looking like they had never seen people before.

We went to the beach yesterday afternoon. Jayci layed in a beach chair in the sand not getting to close to the water. Guess she didn't think it was warm enough. Tye, Cass, Shawn and I walked into the water and I didn't plan on getting wet past my knees, but when those waves come, they come fast. Oh well. Cass got her toes wet I think(chicken). Tye and Shawn went right in and tried jumping some waves, Shawn went down in a hurry. Haha! He even scared himself alittle after one wave took him down, under, round and round he says. He said he wasn't sure where he was going to end up. I got some pretty good pictures showing just how big some of the waves are. Tye tried out running them. He did pretty good too, for the most part.

Jayci had yesterday off from training and will start again on Monday. She is really enjoying her time there, her appetite has been great and she seems to be sleeping better as well, which is good for everybody. Haha! She had another acupuncture treatment yesterday and he is impressed with how quickly Jayci has been responding to the treatments. She has regained more feeling down her back with it going a little farther on her right side. We seen her butt muscles working yesterday also. She seems to have already made an impression with her specialists at PW. Lauren told us how Wednesday night she was at Yoga and while they were in the middle of a really tough position, the instructor said to the class "Now I want really big smiles from all of you". Lauren told Jayci "I instantly thought of you". The harder Jayci works, the bigger the smile!!!

Late yesterday and again today we have been watching the dolphins swim in the ocean right from our front deck. How awesome is that. Pretty cool and I even got a few pictures. Haha. Not sure if you will actually know they are dolphins, they look more like little black flies, so hopefully I will get some better pics. Being from Saskatchewan we are used to seeing wheat fields and gophers and it probably showed yesterday when Shawn first spotted the dolphins. Too funny, and it goes something like this....So everyone was just finishing supper and since I helped Jayci eat, I dished up my plate and sat down in the kitchen. The kids were in the living room, which has patio doors to the front deck, across the street from the water, and Shawn had just gone out to the deck. All of a sudden, Shawn is banging on the patio doors and since no one opened it quick enough, he flies through the front door yelling "Dolphins, dolphins". Well, everyone jumps up, takes off running outside, Shawn grabs Jayci from the lazy boy(which we brought from home), and carries her out to the deck. Tye runs around and grabs the cameras. We were pretty darn excited!! So then, Shawn brings Jace back into the house, Tye follows and Cass and I are still watching the water. Next thing we know, Shawn and Tye are both yelling again "Hey, hey". Cass and I are thinking there is something else in the water, maybe a whale or something. Then the guys are yelling "Help, help". We turn around to see Jayci in the lazy boy, tipped over backwards on the floor with Shawn and Tye on either side. What the???? I guess when Shawn put Jace back in the chair, the back fell loose and down she went. The 4 of us got Jace, and the chair, back up to the right position and Jayci was almost in tears, only because she was laughing so hard. And to think I had the camera in my hands and didn't even get a picture. When my mom texted last night and asked if Jayci had done anything new, of course I told her this story, said that was a first. All my mom said was "Not Funny!". I don't know, maybe you had to be here but we sure had a good laugh.

We are going to head out shortly and check out another rental property. Our tentative plan is to bring Jayci back here in August (if all works out) and this house we are in now quadruples in price in the summer. Can't figure that out, I mean it is a nice place and all, but that is just ridiculous. Shawn's parents should be here some time today and still have to figure out what's for supper. Cass wants to try a fish and chips place before she heads home so maybe we will do that tonight. Well, I am being paged, so better sign off. We will keep you updated on our adventures. Love you all, miss you and take care!

Sounds like a true family holiday with all the excitement. Awesome for you all... So glad Jay is finding PW to be all it was talked up to be. That is truly amazing, and you will do great things Jay. The ocean is so much fun to play in, and really cleans out the sinuses if you know what i mean! Sounds like Shawn experienced it.
Take care enjoy each other and the sun, yup I am missing the sun! Love ya all!

  4. Glad to hear you guys are having some fun. It sounds like a great place you're staying in, so that's too bad the price sky rockets in the summer. Keep up the great work Jace. We can't wait to see you all in May.

    Take care, the Slettens
