Las Vegas

We checked into Circus Circus in Vegas Saturday afternoon and it was pretty much a circus. The place was wall to wall people and kids of all ages. By the time we got through the hotel and out to the strip, the kids were pretty annoyed with how rude some people can be. Cass and Tye were just looking out for their sister. As we were walking down the street we met a man in a manual chair and he said to Jayci "If they don't get out of your way, run their asses over". Haha. It did get a little less congested depending on where we went. Think the kids enjoyed it OK. Cass wants a ticket there for her 21st birthday. We had supper at Planet Hollywood, the kids looked around in some shops and Tye and Shawn went back out to the strip around 11 so Tye could take some pictures. It was a pretty good day!

California

We finally made it to Carlsbad around 4ish yesterday. Did someone say EARTHQUAKE?? We actually didn't know anything about the quake until Shelby texted Jayci last night. We think we were somewhere on the highway but we didn't feel anything. I about booked us on the first flight home when I heard though. That is just way too close!! The house we rented is pretty cool. We are right across the street from the ocean and we can sit out on the deck and see nothing but water. Pretty weird for us Saskatchewanians. And loud. Holy man, you go outside and you expect your hat to blow off your head because it sounds like wind. There is a jet tub in the house and Jayci wanted to sit in it for awhile last night. We put her tub chair in and got her in the tub with Cass and I on either side. Her body started to float up out of the chair a little and Jayci didn't like that too much. She is quite nervous about some things. Next thing I know, Cass jumps in the water with her, clothes and all. Needless to say, I washed Jayci's hair and we got her out. Not sure if she will want to try it again or not. It rained most of the day here today, which doesn't surprise us Griswolds. Last time we were in California they had the most rain they had had in 50 years. Imagine that!

Project Walk

Well, first day at Project Walk and how great it was. They waste no time in getting right to it. They evaluated Jayci with different exercises and then got her moving and kept her moving for the whole 3 hours. They had her trying to move everything, arms, stomach, balancing and they felt her initiate some of the movements in her legs. We are just so excited and of course, Jayci had that huge smile on her face. We even seen that cute little tongue of hers poke out, which means she is working really hard. Tomorrow she is back there from 2 to 5 and I can't wait to see what comes.

Tye has been busy capturing snails, Cass is going to pick lemons from the tree out front and Shawn barbecued us homemade burgers for supper. The kids will be able to sleep in tomorrow, which will be nice for them. Not sure what else is up for tomorrow but I'm sure they all will let me know.

That's about all for now from us down here at Carlsbad. I will let you know what tomorrow brings. God Bless!

Love Shawn, Star, Cassi, Jayci & Tye
