Hey there, I'm back. So yesterday Jayci's appointment with Dr. Fourney went really well. She had an x-ray and the breaks are all fusing and there is no instability in her neck. He was pleased with the movement she has in her neck, which is the reason he used the halo on her. He didn't want to jeopardize that. He told Jayci she has done tremendously, that she looked real skinny and asked if she was eating. He seemed surprised that she has feeling in her hand too. We always knew Jayci would be surprising a lot of people. He also told her that she doesn't need a surgeon anymore and therefore doesn't have to see him again. If she starts to have problems though, he would be happy to see her then. So that was all good.

This morning in PT Jayci practiced trying to roll herself on the mat. She really does put her all into it and she did great. And, of course, she did it all with a smile. She also went on her stomach, which is the first time in 6 months that she has been in that position. She said she felt a little bit trapped though. Haha. This afternoon, Karin and Sarah took her to the mall so they could check out I Phones. Shawn and I met them there. They had booster juice, we toured around in Build A Bear and then bought some gloves at Sport Chek for Jayci to use when she wheels the manual chair. Oh ya, and Shawn found ANOTHER heating pad for Jayci's neck.????? Honestly, how many of these things do we need????? When we got back, the three of us walked the couple blocks to Shop Easy, only managing to get stuck a couple times (come on people, ever heard of a shovel??). One time, Shawn was pulling on the front, I was pushing on the back, I'm not sure who was steering??? but we did get out and carry on our way. We bought alphagetti, pumpkin seeds and granola bars (the kind with the mallows). Jayci did good on the way back, not getting stuck at all.

Jayci is napping now and Shawn went to pick up supper (pasta). We need to eat and have a shower, all before Idol starts. Oh and sorry to disappoint, but there was no bikini boy imitation. Would you believe, after being ready since Monday to see the show, that Shawn fell asleep during it and missed bikini boy?!?!? It was funny this morning though when he was reading the blog and he says "What the heck is bikini boy?". Jace and I filled him in and I think he was pretty disappointed he missed it.
