We are back at home for another weekend. Grandma Wittmier brought supper over last night for us and her and Grandpa joined us. Stew, yummy! Last night was just spent at home with the kids and relaxing in the hot tub. Man, I love the hot tub!!!
Today was busy with our SGI adjuster, an OT from Regina along with a architect from Regina. The architect spent the afternoon measuring, taking pictures and looking over everything. He will draw up a plan that he thinks would be best for our house and then we will have to decide from there what we want to do. Our first choice would be to stay in this house as we have spent a lot of time and money in renovations, the yard and making the house the way we want it. We like it here but we also need things to be accessible for Jayci and comfortable for everyone. When he first told us about what he thought was the best plan for this house, I was a little, well, let's just say, not so happy. Everything is just soooo frustrating and this was just one more thing to add to it. But I am proud to say, I quickly snapped out of the "boo hoo" frame of mind and decided it is not worth worrying about until the plans are done and we can see the whole picture. It is going to be a while before the plans are done and then we will need to get some quotes and blah, blah, blah. At least we are able to bring Jayci home and we are able to be together as a family, so focus on the positive, right?!?!? I remember shortly after the accident Cassi said she didn't care what she had to do, she was going to do whatever it took to help make her sister healthy, even live in a cardboard box if she had to. LOL Well, we aren't living in a cardboard box so....
Jayci, Cass and Shawn went to watch Shelby's hockey game and Tye has gone to the show. Boy, this house hasn't been this quiet in quite some time. I think I hear the hot tub calling my name!!!! I may wait for Shawn though, as we have some of our best talks in the hot tub. One of these days we just may solve all the world's problems!!!! Haha. Take care everyone!

This blog is dedicated to Jayci Wittmier. We are using this blog to keep her friends up to date on all her progress.
Jayci Wittmier, 17 years old. Jayci is an exceptional athlete, student and a great friend to many. She has an amazing spirit and is a joy to be around. On August 10,2009, her 16th birthday, Jayci was a passenger in a terrible car accident. She cracked her C2,3,4 & 6 vertabrae in her neck and broke her C5. Swift Current hospital arranged to have her moved to Saskatoon via air ambulance. She arrived at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, transferred to City Hospital in late Sept. for rehab and was discharged in late February, 2010. She is classified as a C4-5 complete spinal cord injury. Jayci is currently completing her grade 12 year and will accomplish one of her goals of graduating in June, 2011, along with her class. She is also working on another goal, which is to walk again, with her training at Project Walk in Carlsbad, CA and at First Steps in Regina, SK. Jayci's family is asking for you to pray for Jayci's full recovery. BELIEVE!

Glad things are moving forward on to the house. If the plans aren't to your liking, then we can start shipping the cardboard on monday.

Don't sweat the small stuff Sis! Your lives have spun a little out of control and there's a lot of things that really just don't matter. You've got three wonderful kids that have been absolutely amazing and supportive of each other. Life's hard and unfair but you have a wonderful family that is beside you and will do whatever it takes...

Starla don't let the whole house thing get you down from what I have been so lucky to read and hear... you and Shawn have made a home for your family in hallways, hospital rooms ,wherever you find a space to bring all those you love together !!!. and thats the true meaning of home!

Sorry i have not read in a while but i got caught up tonight and WOW your all amazing , strong people and i pray for you all daily. Iam always here for you and the family. I want to come by sometime your home and catch up and visit and maybe use that hot tub too.. We have one but it is boring if no one else is using it with you. Agreed some of the best talks are done in the hot tub here too.. well glad to hear everything and everyone is getting on good. talk soon,
