So yesterday Cass, Ty and Andy showed up around three and we all went out for supper at East Side Marios. It was Jayci's first trip outside of the hospital and it was really good. We had to take a wheelchair taxi and the ride was alittle rough. We didn't think Jace had big enough cheeks to bounce but guess she does. Her brother was a little concerned about it but we made it there and back. Jayci was sure glad she got to share her first outting with Cass, Ty and Andy! She has been practicing in her chair and yesterday we did get them to put alittle more tork in it. She can go a little bit faster now but Ty still thinks she needs more power. Not sure if that is for Jace or himself, as he has been riding it around the hospital also. One of Jayci's doctors seen him and told him he doesn't drive it any better than his sister, ha ha.
Today has been a good busy day with visitors. Uncle Brad was here bright and early this morning. Grandpa & Grandma Wittmier, Grandma Anhorn & Herb, Shantel, Darren, Skylar, Shelby and Ashley and Uncle Dallas all showed up a little later. Jace got in her chair and since it was such a beautiful day, we all went outside for a walk in the park. We ended up at the playground, where we were sure that between Ty, Shelby, Ashley and Uncle Darren, that one of them would end up IN the hospital. Jayci's friends Kaylee and Neasha from Swift came by and sat outside with her. She was glad to visit with them. We ended up being outside for 2 hours and Jace said it felt great. Finkbeiners also stopped in later this afternoon and it was nice Jayci could finally meet Jason. It sounds like we are going to have a few more visitors tomorrow and I must say, it feels so good to have them all come (but sad to see them go).
We are all doing good and looking forward to hopefully a weekend pass soon so that we could possibly come home and visit everyone there. God bless!

ReplyDeleteIt was so good to see you out in your chair and being independent. You look awesome! We are still laughing about the crazy conversations we had last night, and oh the stories.... especially the ones which us adults probably didn't want to hear. Yikes.... all you teenagers!
Anyway, lots of fun and laughs, good for the spirit. Keep working hard and eating tons. You are way to skinny girl. Sky and Shelb were very touched by the gifts you gave them yesterday Jayci. Will treasure them forever. Could you see Sky flashing the light at your window when we left last night? It always sucks to have to leave you all... but soon you will be home. Goodmorning Grump but then i would be to if i'm just getting up and all of a sudden you have a room full of people, but then again we have drove for just about 3 hrs to get there to see you and you are just getting up what's with that, a teenager right sorry I forgot . Grandma Anhorn was really happy to see you couldn't believe the change but said she hadn't seen you for 5 weeks didn't realize it was that long ago.Did Herb even say Hi jayce all he wanted to do was to have a sleep he was looking for a chesterfield couldn't find one . Yesterday they come to Braden's hockey game they walked over and 1st they went and stood over on the players side have no idea how long they were there Aaron spotted them and when they finally did make their way to the other side Herb had his pj pants on couldn't believe it. Braden is so looking forward to coming to saskatoon to play hockey and hopes he can play in a rink where Jayci can come and watch him if she is up to it, he's not getting tons of ice but oh well and they lost both games to weyburn this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGrandpa was happy to see everyone and no more hugs for mom he said as it makes her cry a little will just say goodbye to her as he walks out the door cause I think he has a hard time saying goodbye to but you know Grandpa tough guy .
