So today was a better day. Jace must be feeling a little better because she is back to her cocky self, though I must say, she can be quite funny. She had OT this morning and PT this afternoon, both 1 hour sessions and she did quite good in the chair(no fainting). After therapy this afternoon we went outside for a walk. It was a little cool but it was nice to get out in the fresh air. We had a visit from Uncle Ed and Cousin Dick. They had more stories of the Benefit. Again, WOW! It was good to see them both.

Therapy seems to be going pretty good and her left arm was played out this afternoon, so guess she is working it. They would like to get her on the bike too but her blood pressure needs to be under control first so we will work on that. They also talked about getting her in the pool. Jace was a little concerned with that as she said "Won't I just sink with this halo on"(she's so smart). Obviously they have to wait until the halo is off but it has been 8 weeks now, only another 4 to go!! That will be such a happy day! She actually had a shower tonight(on a stretcher). It must have felt so good to her to have the water spray on her compared to the daily sponge baths we have been giving her.

So that about wraps up our day here. Please continue to post as we love to hear from everyone!!!!!

  2. That pool is so nice and warm! Being immersed just gives such a sense of freedom again. You'll love it. Oh, and the huge jet tub baths. Of course, that's not until the halo is off.

  3. Hello, I'm Elicia Elliott, Dallas' niece (Maureen's daughter). I've been reading your blog for a couple of weeks now from Vancouver and receive other updates intermittently from Hayley and my mom - so glad to hear J is making progress and that you're all sticking together with amazing community and family support. I know we don't officially know each other, but our whole extended family is thinking of you guys and are inspired by and confident in Jayci's ability to overcome adversity! Keep your eyes out for Michelle Cruz, a PT at City Hospital - she is a beautiful woman with magic eyes and a contagious smile and is a good friend of mine. I do hope you get to meet each other - Michelle is a powerful healer! Take care and keep on writing.

  4. Hi All:

Glad to hear you are working hard Jac, I knew you would!!! We had a nice visit with you all on Saturday. Went back to volleyball and lost both sets again. Coach said "if anyone asks you what you did this weekend don't say you were playing volleyball, say you went hunting!!!!" Ha Ha. Got our new carpent installed today (after the flood in the basement), now we will be putting everything back in it's place, minus a few things. Sure you heard already, the Titans lost their first game 8-1, Jane got our only goal and said it was for you!!!! (Jill had lots of chances, oh well1!!) Sure hope we can pick up the pace (quite a few out of shape girls, John and Keith can fix that, ha ha). Going to Regina for Thanksgiving, should be back home on Sunday. The girls have Mon & Tues off school and will come up to S'toon, will let your mom know when we will be up again. Take care everyone and know that we all think of you all the time and miss you, Swift isn't the same without you all!! Talk to you soon!!!

    Love ya,

    John, Cindy, Jane & Jill

  5. good morning Jay Mom & Dad sounds like things were better there yesterday good to hear, and we had no doubt when it came time to do your therapy you would be up for it. Cassi was saying something last night about you can reserve a room or something so maybe dad could do that and i could cook a turkey or ham and cabbage rolls or whatever and everyone that is there could have a meal togeather ,that would be nice. Will call dad later to see what he thinks. Best get to work but have a great day and think about all of you lots . Big Bear Hug for all 3 of you today from grandpa & grandma.

  9. Hey Jayci Starla and Shawn
I was sitting with Cindy K after the benefit drinking a few Jack Rabbit, (I don't care what Cindy says they do not taste like real beer!!)I was telling her with the hundreds of people supporting you Jayci it's like you have your very own Verison Network ,you know the commercial where the "can you hear me now guy" is being followed around by hundreds of people. We started laughing thinking about all the fun you could have imaging we are all your version network following you around. EG; If you needed an extra push during pysio you could picture John K being the front guy yelling push harder Jayci push harder.
    think of you all lots!!!

I miss youuu lots! I got my hair done again haha don't be beakiiin. Its like blonde blonde now. And Imma excited to show you. I hope your feeling better and getting rid of that nasty fever you've had for the last little bit! I'm cold and don't feel like leaving the house so I was wondering if maybe you could just take your flying car down here and come watch movies with me all night :) haha.. And the reason I say all night is because if you were here, we'd never sleep. :) Haha but I don't sleep anyways soo I guess FOR NOW I'll stay up all night and watch movies by myself until you're up and going and ready to come join me.
You're always going to be my best friend. Don't you ever forget that chief chief <3
