It was a pretty good day here, full of surprise visitors. Grandma & Grandpa Stevenson surprised us this morning and were here to come to therapy with us. Jayci was transferred to the table and they practiced her balance while sitting up. She managed to hold herself for about 3 seconds using her arms somewhat for support. Pretty good for first time! We will try for 5 seconds next time. She could possibly have her electric chair tomorrow, Lord help us. I have already warned a few people to stay out of the halls tomorrow!!!! Oh and we officially have the OK for day passes. Shawn thinks we should have gone right for the weekend passes but think we will wait until the halo is off for that. Then we can maybe come home to the wonderful Swift Current for a couple days. Oh, we all look soooo forward to that!!!!
Allan and Helena Paul came up to see us as well (they were here with Grams and Gramps). It was good to see them and have some laughs. We were also surprised by 4 wonderful friends from Swift (the OMGC group), they know who they are. Thanks for the late lunch too, which we had for supper and it was great! It was such a nice surprise and so awesome to see them, but does make us want to come home oh so bad. But that wonderful day will come!!!!
So, you can see that we had a good day and tomorrow is already Thursday and 3 weeks until our appointment with Neuro and hopefully the day the halo comes off!!! As Jace tells us, all in time!!!! She is so amazing! God bless!

ReplyDeletevery encouraging to see Jayci do her physio. What a determined young lady.while we were there the physio Dr asked if there were any volunteers for a medical student program and of course Jayci stuck up her hand(!!)without hesitation I might add.Grandma had some one on one with Jayci and it is amazing the attitude that Jayci has considering all that she has gone thru and the road that is ahead of her.

ReplyDeleteI'm Ed Siemens, Lindsay Siemen's grandpa and I've been following your improvement with great excitement. When I open your blog and see your picture I see what a beautiful young lady you are(just like your mom), I'm impressed with your optimistic outlook and I would like to share with you that in our devotions last week Helen and I read how Great and Powerful God is. There is nothing too difficult that He cannot do. We were asked to pray for a miracle and our thoughts went to you Jayci. We prayed that God would do that miracle in your life, we believe He can and will restore you. Thanks for letting me share this with you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
