The ground is white here today and it better be gone by tomorrow. It is way too early for this! It was a pretty good day for us. Therapy went well with no fainting or nausea although Jan, Jayci's PT, did come prepared with the puke basin.

Funny thing happened though. We were in the rehab waiting room before Jayci's session and all of a sudden the fire alarm goes off, the doors shut and the receptionist starts closing the windows around her desk. All of the therapists and staff come out to the waiting area along with all the patients. Then over the loud speaker they say "Code Red Unit 3" and repeat it. After that, all the therapists' beepers go off, we assume with the same alert. So there we all sat, about 40-50 people, for about 3 minutes and then over the loud speaker we hear "Code Red Ended", and then again, all the beepers go off. It was quite comical to see everyone with their beepers.

Sounds like we are going to have a good weekend with family coming up(weather permitting). There is a suite on the floor that we have booked for Sunday that has a kitchen so we are hoping to taste some home cooked turkey!!!! (Are you getting this mom?) Take care all and God bless!

Love Shawn, Starla & Jayci

  4. Well Happy Birthday Shawn! Just in case you forgot (which has been known to happen) you are 42! The ground is white here too and it has been quite interesting at our house with neither Cassi or Hayley wanting to drive, trying to find mitts and ice scrapers. Hayley took the equinox and was avoiding the overpass and not sure which route Cassi took this morning to her class.
I have a funny for the day, which I'm sure Jayci will think is another one of my stupid stories but here goes. I wore my new dress pants to work and walked around all day thinking Mom (Grandma) had shortened them goofy. The next day I realized I had on two different shoes, one of Starla's and one of mine. They have different heels but in my defense they are both black. Anyways, missing you guys like crazy - love you & stay strong!

Happy Birthday Brother and Uncle Shawn,

Glad to hear you are liking physio Jay, and getting stronger every day.
It sure was cold this morning and being a smart girl I used Shelby's command start to warm up the car... but with the sleet last night I couldn't get in the car. The doors were frozen shut, so I walked to work and left the car to shut off itself. Hopefully the timer works or else it is out of gas. Who knows!
Anyway,we will be up tomorrow, and Shelb can sneak away Sunday morning to come and see you. So you may have to be up early. Take care, have a good day, and don't forget to sing Happy Birthday to your dad!
