13 DAYS TIL HALOBRATION!

Woo hoo, its Friday which means Cass and Ty will be finding their way up here again. We all look forward to the weekends!!! Therapy went well yesterday. They practiced Jayci's balance again in a few different positions and she can hold herself up to 12 seconds. Big improvement over the last time which was 3 seconds. Once that 8 pound halo is gone from her head, look out!!! Her trach was capped for 9 hours yesterday, so hopefully by early next week, she will be able to do the 48 hours they need to see before they will take it out. That will be another big hurdle! What a long way she has come so far. We still have a long way to go, but every improvement is just so darn exciting. Jace is so determined to prove the doctors wrong that I just know she is going to!!!

I forgot to mention that Karen, who was Jayci's PT over at RUH(the one that gave her the stuffed rat), stopped in on Wednesday to see how she is doing. Think she was quite happy to see Jace up in her chair, operating it on her own. It was a nice surprise to see her smiling face again, and hear her encouraging words for Jayci. My dear friend Randi was here yesterday and it was great to hang out with her for a few hours. Her mom also came up to say hello to us, also great to see her!

Guess I better get going now and prepare for the day ahead. Who knows what tricks Jayci has instore for us today!!! Oh, and with Ty coming, look out! Hope everyone has a great weekend and if anyone is up this way, please stop in and say hello!!!! Love you all!

  3. Hi Everyone!

Love to hear about all the improvements you make each and every day, you are a hard worker and it will pay off for you, I know it! Love that the trach and the halo is is almost gone, what a relief that will be.

Jane got her yearbook, there are lots of pics of you. If you need Jane to pick up yours just let us know. They made a slight boo boo in the yearbook for the Jr. Ardens Volleyball team, the write up for volleyball is about your Jr. Ardens Basketball team, and no they did not put the volleyball under your basketball page, your page is correct. Funny how the year the volleyball team won 5 or 6 gold medals they manage to mess it up, oh well!

Jill is in PA playing soccer today & Sat in Regionals for Provincials. Did you hear that Jill (as of this week) is the goalie for the soccer team? (her knee is still not too good for playing out) Well yesterday they were in the league final in Moose Jaw (Jill in goal) and we were ahead 1 - 0 with about 2 min left, a "suspect" hand ball by Swift casued a Moose Jaw player to have a free kick on Jill from about 15 ft. out, and they scored so it was a tie. We played overtime, still tied, shoot out and we won the shootout 3-2, it was very tense! How exciting!

Jane goes to Fox Valley Sat. for volleyball. Have a home Titans game on Sunday, hope we can get a win.

Keep working hard girl! You are a trooper!! Starla & Shawn you have a great girl there and you are taking great care of her, keep up the great work!!!!

Look forward to seeing you all again soon!!
