10 DAYS TIL HALOBRATION!!!!!
It was another great weekend here. Cass and Ty arrived Friday afternoon with Grandpa and Grandma Stevenson. Grandma Wittmier showed up Saturday, Skylar and Grandpa Wittmier followed. Jayci's friends Kenzie and Melissa came Saturday afternoon and Jace finally got to meet baby Jaxson (what a sweetheart). I think Jayci is in love as she just stares at his picture. Today, Auntie Sherry and Uncle Dallas made a surprise visit AND they brought our puppy Gizzy too. Oh, what a great surprise and yes, there were happy tears(Jace, Shawn and I have not seen her since we came to Saskatoon). Jayci's friends Amber and Rachelle came today also with Darcy and Tracy and the girls had a great afternoon of catching up. It was so so great to see everyone. This is why we look so forward to the weekends!!!! Thanks to everyone and thanks to Jayci's friends for coming up here to see her. Hope you all know how very much it means to her(and us).
Jace has been feeling really good this weekend and her appetite has been good. The Grandma's make sure they bring up some home cooking and fresh baking so that helps. Her trach was capped for 10 hours yesterday and she is into her 11th hour today. The big trial will be wearing it through her therapy sessions as this is when she is the most tired but we know she can do it.
So funny story from last week. Jayci was at a therapy session and an older man went walking by, kind of bent over, pushing a wheelchair and, well, in Jayci's words, it was the ugliest harry asscrack she has ever seen. I said "Why did you look?" and Jace said "Well I can't exactly turn my head".
We have a busy day tomorrow with therapies plus Jayci has the Clinical Science session too. One of the doctors had asked Jace if she would be like the guinea pig and we aren't too sure what it is about but it will be with medical students. We will be sure to let you know how it goes. Better sign off now and get Jace ready for bed. Think the weekend played her out. Good night all!
Love Shawn, Starla & Jace

Good morning Shawn, Star & Jayci!
ReplyDeleteIt was an awesome day yesterday! Those are the best tears I've seen in a long time!! Way to go Gizzi! Jayci you are one amazing young lady and seeing you wheel around on your own was great! You have never been a quitter and with your determination you are going to accomplish your goals! Once that halo comes off - look out! Shawn & Star you two are unbelievable - Jayci gets her strength from you! Keep believing in miracles!
Good Morning: Hope every one had a good sleep we arrived home about 5 min after uncle dallas Auntie sherrie and ty (and of course gizzy) they stopped way to much. Well here's a laugh for you all on grandma, you know how I don't like to pay the 10.00 a day to park ,well I could have parked 5 times for the cost of my ticket which I got on Sunday parking on the street,we were just about out of saskatoon and I said to cassi what's on my windshield she said i don't know, said looks like a ticket stopped took it off said $50;00 and no reduction, so guess i will be either in the park or in the parking lot. Grandpa had a good laugh as I had laughed at him and the car wash.
ReplyDeleteJayci have fun being the volunteer today and hope he doesn't do anything goofy, but sure it will be fine and good for you. Have a great day and work hard in therapy as I know you will . Let Dad know if there is anything I can bring up for you this weekendtell dad and he can call or mom can put it on your daily update and we will see what we can do.Guess you will see me at the party sat night. Love grandma XOXOXOXO
I'm so glad you got to see yourn puppy! That was one of the hardest parts of being away from Swift. Muffin could have come up, but she had nowhere to stay since my uncle & aunt's townhouse, where my parents stayed, couldn't have pets. When I took a week off to come home for Christmas it was very good to see her, but tough to leave my furry friend for another three months.
ReplyDeleteI'll be at SCH for an appointment today and to visit with Pete after his presentation so hopefully I can drop in to say hello.
Have a great week!
Hey Jayci, Shawn and Star
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good week end. Hope you got to attend the presentation today, I'm sure it would have been very inspirational and interesting to hear his story. Must have felt so good to give Gizzy a huge hug, and i bet you all received lots of licks. Hope to see you this week end as Shelby plays in P.A. Take care and love ya all...
Hey Guys: Glad to see that everything is going the right way. I bet you can't wait for the halo to come off!! Shawn, your're not missing much in the Chicken Hawks Hockey, I think that they have only won one game, I guess that just because you're not there. Hang in there guys, hope to see you soon(maybe we'll have to do another road trip). Thoughts & Prayers
ReplyDeleteThe Gerbrandt's
well another animal tear jerker, went out to Simmie for turkey supper(mm mm good)stopped at Allan & Helena's(about 25 miles out)for coffee afterwards.Went for lunch today with A & H and gramma was telling about her morning, she opened garage door to come up town and noticed our neighbor, who has been assisting us with trying to catch the rats under our front step, outside so she went over to tell him about the rat setting off trap again, she looked back and there on our lawn was this little kitten with only half a tail, well of course this had to be our"rat"so the two of them tried to catch this kitten but did not succeed. So Helena says "does this kitten have short back legs" "yes" "well I didn't see our kitten this morning that looks like that"of course nobody thought this possible but sure enough they came and called to the kitten and it came right to her!!!has to be top 10 hey Jayci. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
ReplyDeleteHi to everyone up there! Sounds like you had a really good week-end and Gizzy got first prize! so glad you all enjoyed your pooch!
ReplyDeleteBut now I have to tell you the real story about Alyssa's poor kitty. We all enjoyed the turkey supper and then your GT & GT stopped at our place to steal one of our cats to take back to Swift to kill their rats! Maybe next time they could take it in the car instead of underneath it! I phoned Alyssa to tell her the story about her poor kitty and she couldn't believe it. She said the kitty's name is Bortis , so I told her maybe she should call him "Lucky Bortis" and he does have a short tail because he is a manx kitten
We REALLY enjoy reading the blog everyday and think of your whole family every minute of the day!
Love and prayers to all,
The Pauls
