Well we had a pretty busy weekend with visitors. Thanks to everyone that came to see us, family and friends. Jace really enjoys seeing everyone and getting caught up with all her friends. Shawn and I enjoy it too!!!! We were outside on Saturday again, but yesterday was very cold here so did not venture out. Today is not much nicer so we may just have to walk the halls of the hospital.

It has been a pretty busy morning here in our room. Orthepedics was up, OT was in for therapy, docs were in, speech therapists were in and right now, Jace is in Math class (yee ha). She actually asked if she could start math so good for her. The news from the docs today is that because Jayci's stomach has been good for about a week now, they are going to decrease the meds for that. No word from rehab yet. Orthepedics moved Jayci's halo vest up so hopefully that will help with the discomfort she has been having in her shoulder blades. Speech therapists plugged her trach and, of course, Jace did just fine breathing through her mouth and nose and her voice was really strong. They left it plugged for 15 minutes and they will continue to increase it daily. This will prove to them that she can be without the trach and then they can remove it. Very exciting!!!

We would like to thank the Mike Rossiter Hockey Camp and everyone that was involved and everyone that participated for the great support following, what sounds like an awesome weekend of hockey. We are overwhelmed by all the support and we feel truly blessed.

So there were 5 girl-friends up to see Jayci yesterday and when it was time to leave, they all wanted to give Jace a hug but were scared of hurting her. Of course we tell them they won't hurt her but.... when Kelsey hugged her, Jayci says "Ouch" and then cracks up laughing. Poor Kelsey!! And you all know Jayci has the halo, well Jordan (she was also in the accident) was here as well and she wears a neck collar. When they said good bye, Jace says "Take care of your plastic" and Jordan says to Jayci "Take care of your metal". What a bunch of nutballs!!!!!

Thanks for reading and please continue to post. Jace looks forward to reading them.

  3. Hi guys!!! Just located the Saskatoon berries for your pie, I will have you know I have never made a Saskatoon pie before (you are my guinea pig, lol). Not sure if we will be up on Fri or Sat but will let your mom & dad know.

Jr. Ardens won silver in Cabri Volleyball tourney last Sat (lost to Fox Valley), not to shabby I guess. John & I painted 3/4's of the basement yesterday (Jane & Jill sat on the couch). Tired today. Need a good sleep tonight, laying sod tomorrow!!

Keep up the great progress Jac! You are a strong, persistant hard worker which is evident from when you play hockey, so we know you have it in you to get the job done and get better!!

    Love you all!!!!

  12. I am glad to hear you realize the true importance of math in your life. If you have success with your teacher, let me know. I have several of your friends down here and I am desperate to get rid of them. I think Saskatoon would be far away enough. Take care.
